1. Introduction
Sereni Travel Studio (hereafter referred to as "the Company") is committed to transparency, openness, and accountability. This manual has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), No. 2 of 2000, as amended.
The purpose of this manual is to inform the public of the Company’s processes for accessing information held by the Company.

3. Requesting Information
Any person or entity wishing to request information from Sereni Travel Studio can do so in writing to the designated Information Officer. Requests must be submitted using the prescribed PAIA Form 2.

Requests must be made in writing, either by post or email. The request should clearly specify the nature of the information being requested.
4. Fees and Payment
4.1 Request Fees
- The prescribed fee for lodging a request for information is R35.00 (unless the requestor is a public body).
4.2 Access Fees
- If access to the requested information is granted, additional fees may apply, based on the time and resources required to retrieve and prepare the information. Fees will be calculated in accordance with the provisions of PAIA and the relevant regulations.
4.3 Payment

4.4 Waiver of Fees
- The Company reserves the right to waive or reduce fees if the requestor is indigent or if it is in the public interest to do so.

6. Exemptions to Accessing Information
Under certain circumstances, access to information may be refused or limited due to the following exemptions as outlined in Section 34 of PAIA:
6.1 National Security
- Information that could affect national security or compromise the safety of the public or specific individuals.
6.2 Commercial Confidentiality
- Information that is subject to confidentiality agreements, including trade secrets or sensitive financial data of the Company or third parties.
6.3 Personal Privacy
- Personal information of individuals that is protected by privacy laws, unless consent has been provided or the information is necessary for the request.
6.4 Law Enforcement
- Information related to investigations, law enforcement, or information that could harm ongoing investigations.
6.5 Public Safety
- Information that could endanger the health, safety, or well-being of individuals.
7. Grounds for Refusal of Information
Information may be refused under the following circumstances:
- If the requested information is confidential or legally protected.
- If providing the information would be prejudicial to the interests of the Company or a third party.
- If the information falls under one of the exemptions mentioned in Section 6.
8. Internal Appeal Process
If an individual is dissatisfied with the decision made regarding their request for information, they may appeal the decision internally to the Information Officer.
Appeal Process:
- Submit the appeal in writing to the Information Officer within 30 days of the refusal.
- The Information Officer will review the appeal and provide a final decision within 30 days of receiving the appeal.
9. External Appeal Process
If the internal appeal is unsuccessful, the requester may lodge an appeal with the Information Regulator. The appeal should be submitted within 60 days from the date the internal appeal was determined.
